The Nazi sub-camp system
Mulheim
Mulheim
This might refer to a camp at Mulheim-Essen airport mentioned by Bernhard Chiari in Volume 9 of his book "Germany and the Second World War". Chiari records that 132 people died at this camp between February 1942 and mid-March 1945 as a result of the harsh conditions. Half of those who died were Dutch, the remainder being Polish, Belgian, Ukrainian, German and other nationalities.
There was a displaced persons camp at Mulheim an der Ruhr, which may have been a concentration camp during the war.
