Eching subcamp was located at a gravel pit between Dietersharm and Neufarn. The camp consisted of two to five wooden barrack huts and contained 500 prisoners who were supposed to build an airfield, under the direction of the SS and Organisation Todt (OT), in the Garchinger Heide about 1.2 miles east of the camp. This would place the camp near the pool to left-centre of the picture, which may be the gravel pit.
